Last month, when those first quarts began rolling off the production line, the first case of each flavor was saved for the purpose other than sales.
“We learned via our social media pages that there are plenty of Yuengling collectors with vintage ice cream memorabilia,” said David Yuengling, president of Yuengling’s Ice Cream. “Then, with the popularity of the ice cream following the relaunch, we thought the first quarts might be of interest to those collectors.”
The first 10 flavors that were produced were all donated to charities and nonprofits to help them raise money.
“Both David and I try to give back to the community in our personal lives,” said Bohorad, the company’s COO. “Donating the first cases of our ice cream seemed like a great way to get the company on track to helping, too, in a fun way.”
