An unidentified man and woman were taken to the hospital via ambulances for unknown injuries after overturning their SUV (sport utility vehicle) around 8 PM, Monday, April 14, 2014 along US209 in Schuylkill Township.
Tire tracks at the scene showed that the SUV (a grey Ford Explorer) was traveling west on US209 (about 1/2 mile east of the Tuscarora intersection) when it overturned and landed back on its wheels in the grass alongside the eastbound lane.
Responding to the single-vehicle accident were State Police, Tuscarora Fire Company, Mary D Fire Company, Tamaqua Rescue Squad, Tamaqua Ambulance, Lehighton Ambulance, and others.
Witnesses said another younger person was also in the car, but wasn’t injured. Another witness said that both the man and woman were able to get out of the vehicle on their own.
Hope’s Towing removed the vehicle.
