1 Dies Motor Vehicle Accident Near Gilberton

NOTE:  The vehicle in the photo was not the vehicle
that the person died in.

Before 1PM Wednesday, Emergency personnel were called to 2730 Main Street, Gilberton (Mahanoy Plane) for head on collision with possible entrapment.

At least one person has been flown from the Mahanoy Plane Park.

The road is also reportedly shut down.

1 person is confirmed to have died in the crash.  The Republican Herald is reporting that Mary Lou Leiby, 61, of Ringtown, died in the crash.
