Man Arrested for Drug and Weapons Possession Following Traffic Stop

A man was arrested for drug and weapons possession following traffic stop Sunday.


Joseph Michaels, of Barnesville, was a arrested Sunday following a traffic stop by Officers Rentschler and Kovalewski after drugs and weapons were found during a traffic stop.

According to the Mahanoy City Police Department's Facebook page, Michaels was charged with DUI, Prohibited Offensive Weapons, Possessing instruments of crime, crimes committed with firearms, possession of controlled substances (Marijuana, Meth, Oxycodone, and Alprazolam), possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying loaded weapons, identity theft, and a stop sign violation.
