Two vehicle accident on Route 209 Monday evening.

Two people suffered unknown injuries during a two-vehicle accident that occurred around 7:50 PM (Monday, July 28, 2014) on West Water Street (US209) near the intersection of West Miner Street in Coaldale.
The incident involved a red/maroon Chevrolet Malibu and a dark green Chevrolet Trail Blazer. A male, who refused treatment, was in the Malibu. The man in the Tahoe refused treatment, while a woman and child (not confirmed) were in the Blazer.
Coaldale Police patrolman Joseph Krebs is the investigating officer.
Responding were Cpaldale Police, Coaldale Fire Company, Tamaqua Ambulance, Lehighton Ambulance and others. Tamaqua Rescue Squad and Tamaqua American Hose Company responded, but were later recalled.
Coaldale Fire Police diverted US209 traffic onto Greenwood Street for the duration.
Hope’s Towing also responded.
