THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING...


THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A

* FLOOD WATCH FOR A PORTION OF CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...COLUMBIA...LANCASTER...LEBANON... SCHUYLKILL AND SULLIVAN.

* THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING

* PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN WILL CONTINUE INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. REPORTS OF OVER 3 INCHES HAVE ALREADY BEEN REPORTED AS OF LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND AN ADDITIONAL 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE TONIGHT. THIS AMOUNT OF RAIN WOULD CAUSE FLOODING OF SOME SMALL CREEKS AND POOR DRAINAGE AREAS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING ON SMALL STREAMS...CREEKS...POOR DRAINAGE...URBAN AND LOW-LYING AREAS BASED ON CURRENT FORECASTS.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
