Flynn coached the Pottsville Crimson Tide Football team for 21 years (1958-1962, 1967-1983). His overall record at Pottsville was (1603-70-6)
His career also included the following titles
- Eastern Conference Class A Title (1978)
- Southern Division Championship (1971, 1976, 1980)
He coached high school football for a total of 32 years which also included coaching at Saint Clair.
In September, Pottsville renamed it's press box in his honor.
He was also a part of the 1949 Notre Dame Football team that won the National Championship.
He was 87 years old.
