Matt Freiler, from Deer Lake, was bored one Wednesday afternoon and began writing lyrics. By that evening, he had "Skook State of Mind". He recorded himself and posted it to Facebook. Little did he know it would be viewed and shared hundreds, if not thousands of times.

Two weeks later he posted, an official video on Youtube for "Skook State of Mind". As of this writing it has been viewed over 98,000. WARNING: Adult Language
Since then, Matty Fresh, has played local bazaars and events and was even featured on T-102.
He has also wrote and recorded more songs and even released an album later in 2014.
