Schuylkill County Upgraded to Winter Storm Warning

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON...


THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS UPGRADED TO A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOWFALL...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 PM EST THIS AFTERNOON.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...4 TO 8 INCHES WITH HIGHER ELEVATIONS POSSIBLY RECEIVING UPWARDS OF 8 TO 12 INCHES.

* LOCATIONS...ACROSS THE MIDDLE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY.

* HAZARD TYPES...SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

* TIMING...SLOW MOVING BANDS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW WILL BE FOCUSED ACROSS THE MIDDLE SUSQUEHANNA VALLEY THROUGH THE EARLY AFTERNOON HOURS. THE SNOW WILL LIGHTEN UP IN MANY LOCATIONS DURING THE MID TO LATE AFTERNOON HOURS.

* IMPACTS...SLICK AND HAZARDOUS ROADS WITH REDUCED VISIBILITIES DUE TO SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW.

* WINDS...WEST 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH.

* TEMPERATURES...IN THE LOWER 30S.
