Ansbach Announces Candidacy for Register of Wills

Kerry L. Ansbach of Pottsville announced Thursday that he is seeking the Republican nomination for Schuylkill County Register of Wills. Ansbach is currently the Director of Facilities and Transportation for the Pottsville Area School District where he has been employed for 33 years. Prior to his employment with the Pottsville Area School District, Ansbach served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war, where he was injured during his deployment and was honorably discharged.

Ansbach has also been active in many civic and community associations. He currently serves as a member of his church council at Trinity Lutheran Church in Pottsville and serves as President of the Schuylkill County Area Vocational Technical School (AVTS) Authority Board. In addition, he is a member of Pulaski Lodge #216, and a member of Amvets Post 180, Pottsville.

“The Register of Wills office provides a service to the taxpayer. Schuylkill County residents can be assured that, if elected, I will do my best to ensure quality service and will never use this position to further a personal agenda” Ansbach said.

The Registers of Wills office has jurisdiction over the probate of wills, is the Commonwealth's agent for the collection of state inheritance tax and handles all proceedings relating to estates of incapacitated persons, adoptions, and marriage licenses.
