Daytime lane restrictions will be in place next week for tree removal at two locations along state highways in Schuylkill County.
The work is part of the $899 million Rapid Bridge Replacement Project to rebuild 558 structurally deficient bridges all across the state of Pennsylvania. Crews will be cutting down trees at the Little Mountain Road Bridge over Trexler Run, the Catawissa Creek Road (PA 339) Bridge over
Catawissa Creek and the Catawissa Creek Road (PA 339) Bridge over a tributary to Catawissa Creek. All three bridges are scheduled to be replaced later this year.
On Monday, March 23, Little Mountain Road will have lane restrictions between Hill Field and Pine Swamp roads in Union Township from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. On Tuesday, March 24, Catawissa Creek Road (PA 339) will have lane restrictions at Cherry Lane in North Union Township, also from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Motorists are advised to use extra care when traveling through the construction areas and be alert for slow moving traffic approaching the work zones. For more information on the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project, go to the project’s website at www.PARapidBridges.com.
