Water Main Break Repaired; Water Boil Advisory Issued for Mahanoy City

Due to the water main break in Mahanoy City Wednesday evening, a water boil advisory has been issued for the borough.

Around 6:30pm Wednesday evening, a water main break was discovered in the borough at the intersection of Main St. and Pine St.

The break was repaired overnight into Thursday but the entire system needed to be drained in order make the repair.

Around 3:00am water was turned back on in the borough but a water boil advisory was issued until further notice.

Due to the water issues, Mahanoy Area issued a 2 Hour Delay for all transportation and students.

All fire departments were housed overnight during the water outage in case there was a fire.
