Schuylkill County will be placed in a burn ban starting on Friday.
The Schuylkill County Commissioners announced Wednesday that starting Friday, April 17th at noon, the county will enact a 30 day burn ban lasting until May 17th at noon.
The recommendation for the burn ban comes from the Pennsylvania Department of conservation and Natural Resources.
The ban forbids residents from any outdoor burning.
Grilling on a gas or charcoal grill is allowed but only for the sole purpose of preparing food.
If people do not comply with the ban, they face fines from $100 increasing an additiona $100 for each violation.
