Emergency personnel were called to the intersection of Route 61 and Altamont Boulevard, West Mahanoy Twp. near Frackville around 5:15am for a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle.
According to the Times News, a woman was crossing the highway when she was struck by a passing SUV.
The victim sustained moderate injuries and an investigation is still ongoing.
