According to the Times News, Maria C. Whah, of Mahanoy City, was involved in a crash on Sunday where she struck a utility pole with her SUV on Bowmans Road in Mahanoy Township.
The utility pole was sheered in half while the vehicle continued down an embankment and into a creek.
Whah showed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest. Charges are to be filed.
