The check represents proceeds from a Spa Night Event hosted by the Spa at McCann on Wednesday, June 17th. The event, which took place at the new Woodglen Road location, was attended by approximately fifty people, who all paid $5 per mini spa service. According Spa Coordiantor, Erica Boyer, “This annual event is a great way for the public to experience the benefits of massage and spa services at a very reasonable rate while contributing to a great organization.” McCann selects a different non-profit organization each year to be the recipient of funds from the annual event.
Schuylkill Alliance for Healthcare Access is a non- profit organization which links uninsured Schuylkill County Residents to affordable healthcare services and medicines. The program targets working individuals who do not qualify for the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid or Medicare, and who cannot afford to purchase health insurance. Once an individual registers with the Schuylkill Alliance for Healthcare Access for a nominal fee, he or she has access to a network of over 150 medical providers, including hospitals and testing facilities, across Schuylkill County who have agreed to accept the Medicaid Rate for services.
