Senator David G. Argall (R-Schuylkill/Berks) will be holding a telephone town hall meeting with local residents in Berks and Schuylkill Counties on Wednesday, August 5 from 6 p.m. – 7 p.m. to discuss and receive feedback on the state budget debate.
“These telephone town hall meetings are an excellent opportunity for local residents to voice their opinion about their state government,” Argall said. “The prolonged stalemate between the governor and legislature represents a major disagreement on taxes and spending. I think the taxpayers need to have the final say.”
In addition to discussing the budget impasse, Argall says his telephone forum will hit on other related budget issues in the 29thSenatorial District, including property taxes, pension reform, education funding, Marcellus Shale and reducing the size of the General Assembly.
Residents are encouraged to visit Senator Argall’s website at www.SenatorArgall.com to sign up to participate in the event. Residents are also able to call 1-877-229-8493 and enter PIN # 111786.
Participants will be asked a series of questions regarding their opinion of the governor’s veto of the state budget, which property tax plan makes the most sense, increasing taxes and fees on Marcellus Shale drilling in Pennsylvania, among several others.
