Philadelphia Man Arrested on Warrants

On September 19, 2015 at 2:26 Pm, Shenandoah police responded to the intersection of Gilbert and Coal streets for harassment. Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the complainant who stated they were being harassed by a male named Michael Lutz.


Officers located Lutz at a house in the 200 block of North Gilbert Street. Officers asked for Lutz's date of birth which he provided. After checking with the Schuylkill County Communications Center, Police learned that the information Lutz provided was false and he was taken into custody.

Lutz's correct date of birth was discovered and another check on Lutz was conducted with the communications center. The check on Lutz indicated he had 4 active warrants from the Philadelphia area. Lutz was searched after being handcuffed and was found to be in possession of a hypodermic needle and a straw with white residue inside it.

Lutz was arraigned by District Magistrate Plachko on the charges of: Flight to avoid apprehension, trial or punishment, False identification to Law Enforcement Authorities, Possession of drug paraphernalia and harassment.

Lutz was unable to post the straight cash bail of $25,000 and will remain in the Schuylkill County Prison until his preliminary hearing.
