During a special meeting Monday night, the Hazleton Area School Board voted to make changes to the upcoming school year.
During the meeting, the board voted to change the current 5 day school week to a 4 day for the months of December, January, and February (Tuesday through Friday) and also voted to change full day kindergarten to half day.
The changes were made to close a deficit the school district is facing of over $140 million.
