Around 12:45pm, Wednesday, emergency personnel were called to West Penn Township near Tamaqua for a lawn mower accident with entrapment.
According to officials, Tina Hoppes, 54, an employee of West Penn Township was operating a lawn mower near a creek near Zions Stone Street Road, when the ground gave way causing the lawn mower to roll into the creek pinning the Hoppes underwater where she died.
Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner David Truskowsky pronounced Hoppes dead at the scene at 1:40PM
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday evening.
