Two Charged After Alleged Contractor Scam
Police arrived to find James Lewkowicz, 43, Suffolk, NY had been in the house and asked for $6,500 after telling the elderly woman that he had serviced her furnace.
Lewkowicz stated that he was affiliated with Elite Solutions, a chimney cleaning company and that he had work orders and an appointment to clean the chimney. The victim said that she never made an appointment.
A second male was stopped by State Police as he passed by the scene in a van identified with Elite Solutions written on it. He was identified as Jonathon Romero, 30, Brooklyn, NY.
A search of the van later found marijuana roaches inside at the driver’s seat.
Both males had warrants issued from other states.
Lewkowicz was charged with Burglary, trespass and criminal attempt to commit theft by deception. He was arraigned and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $25,000 cash bail.
Romero was charged with criminal attempt to commit theft by deception and possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arraigned and committed to SCP on $10,000 cash bail.

5 Charged with Assault
The victim reported to Police that he was jumped by the group, punched in the face and then kicked when he fell to the ground.
All were charged with Aggravated assault, Intimidation of witness, Retaliation against witness, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and summary violations.
All have been taken into custody, arraigned and committed to Schuylkill County Prison on $25,000 cash bail.

Incident Allegedly Involving Gun Ends with Assault Charges
SHENANDOAH - On June 20, 2016 around 6:00PM, Shenandoah Police were dispatched to a disturbance of a man with a gun, in the unit block of E Penn St. in the borough.
According to Police, Tory Shuman, 22, 103 N White St Shenandoah, his wife Ashli Shuman, 19, and a roommate Kimani Knott, 22, same address, confronted several adults outside 26 E Penn St.
Tory Shuman allegedly produced a handgun and pointed it at another male while threatening him, as the group of adults retreated into the house.
Knott stepped inside the door continuing to point the gun at the male. Four children under the age of 12 were in the house near the adults at the time. He then gave the gun to his wife Ashli, who took it to her house. Police caught Tory Shuman and Knott as they were leaving the scene.
Tory Shuman was charged with one count each: aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespass and conspiracy. Also 7 counts of recklessly endangering another person.
Kimani was charged with one count conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.
Both were arraigned and committed to Schuylkill County Prison.
A charge of Tampering with evidence was filed through district court against Ashli Shuman.
Tory Shuman was charged with one count each: aggravated assault, burglary, criminal trespass and conspiracy. Also 7 counts of recklessly endangering another person.
Kimani was charged with one count conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.
Both were arraigned and committed to Schuylkill County Prison.
