According to the Reading Eagle, Essam Saba, 26, of Allentown drowned around 2pm Sunday afternoon when he attempted to swim across the Schuylkill River near Peace Rock near Port Clinton.
The beach was closed for part of the afternoon and Fire Police were called to clear the rest of the people who were at the beach. The beach and area later opened.
The death has been called an Accidental Drowning.
Hundreds of people were reported to have been in the area before and after the drowning occurred. The area has been a popular spot for people to swim.
