The awards were handed out to the 4-H’ers at the recent Schuylkill County 4-H Achievement Night Banquet. Six of the eleven recipients were members of the Blue Mt. 4-H Livestock Club. Recipients of the award from this club were Lane Noecker for Market Swine, Sara Strouse for Market Steer and Samantha Strouse for Market Lamb in the 8 to 12 year division. In the Intermediate division ages 13 to 15 it was Stefani Strouse for Market Steer. In the Senior division it was Bennett Keller for leadership and Kristen Schrader for rabbit.
Any 4-H’er at any point in time throughout their career may apply for this award. 4-Her’s were to fill out an application outlining their activities and accomplishments throughout the year. A letter of recommendation from the club leader accompanied the application. The application were reviewed by members of the 4-H Development Board. The awards are given in the three age groups of junior, intermediates and senior division and the 4-H member selects a category that they wish to apply. The committee had a very difficult decision to make regarding the recipients of this award. In the end six of the 11 recipients were from the Blue Mt. 4-H Livestock Club.
