Gerald M. Haas, 86, of RD Pottsville, passed away Saturday, January 7th, peacefully, at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Schuylkill, East.
Gerald was born in Pottsville, PA on October 16, 1930, a son of the late Catherine (Gallagher) and John A. Haas.
He was the husband of Mary Jane (Lord) Haas to whom he was married to for 61 years.
He was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church Schuylkill Haven.
He served in the U.S. Navy.
He retired from Alcoa Extrusions Lebanon also from Blue Mountain School District and Hidden Valley Golf Course.
Gerry was a member of Schuylkill Haven American Legion, Schuylkill Haven VFW, Alcoa 25 Year Club, Schuylkill Haven and Tremont Golf Leagues, He was Schuylkill County Golf Champion in 1997 and was Senior Golf Champion in his age group in 2007. A Graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School.
Gerry is survived by a daughter, Jane Ann, wife of Jon Ege, of Deer Lake;
two sons Gerald M. Haas II, of Pottsville, PA; Randy J., husband of Lisa Haas, of Orwigsburg, PA;
7 grandchildren Tyler Haas, Blake Haas, Jordan Haas, Jonathan Ege, Justin Ege, Kevin Haas, Olivia Haas also survived by a sisters, Lucille Moyer, of Pottsville,
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Joe Haas and John Haas Jr, 4 sisters Patricia Rozanskas, Phyllis Fox, Faye Berica and Rosemary Bretz
A Celebration of Life Funeral Service at Geschwindt Stabingas Funeral Home, 25 East Main Street Schuylkill Haven, PA, at 10:30 am on Wednesday, January 11th, with Certified Funeral Celebrandt Rebecca Devlin officiating.
A Viewing will be held on Wednesday 9:30 - 10:30 am at the funeral home.
