Pottsville Police say that on March 2, 2017, the department along with Schuylkill County Children and Youth interviewed a 13 year old girl who disclosed that Ashley Adams, 31, of Pottsville had inappropriate sexual contact with her on at least three separate occasions in late August through early September of 2016.
On Tuesday March 7, 2017, around 7:00am, Adams was taken into custody without incident by Pottsville Police officers at 1218 W. Norwegian Street pursuant to an active arrest warrant for the charges of Rape, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Indecent Assault, Indecent Exposure, Endangering the Welfare of a child and Corruption of Minor based on the results of an investigation by Welsh.
An investigation, led by Pottsville Bureau of Police Detective Joseph Welsh. including the recovery of evidence at the crime scene by the PA State Police Forensic Services Unit, led to a criminal complaint being filed.

Adams was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Reiley and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail pending a preliminary hearing.
