Homes were saved from a quickly spreading brush fire by homeowners and firefighters Sunday afternoon.
Around 3:15pm, Sunday afternoon, fire crews were called to the area of 106 Race Street Ringtown for a transformer fire.
Before fire crews arrived, gusty winds helped spread the fire spread to a nearby bush and then to other items that began to threaten nearby homes.
Sources tell us if homeowners had not acted quickly, the fire would have been much worse and could have spread to the homes.
When fire crews arrived, the fire was brought under control and no homes were damaged.
The Ringtown Valley Fire & Rescue Company was the responding fire department.
