A man is facing firearms violations and child endangerment charges.
Around 4:20am on Thursday, June 22nd, Pennsylvania State Troopers from Schuylkill Haven were dispatched to 532 3rd Street in Port Carbon, for a report of an unresponsive male with two small children in the back seat of a vehicle.
Around 4:20am on Thursday, June 22nd, Pennsylvania State Troopers from Schuylkill Haven were dispatched to 532 3rd Street in Port Carbon, for a report of an unresponsive male with two small children in the back seat of a vehicle.
Initial reports also indicated that the male had a firearm in his hand.
When troopers arrived, they were able to get the man, Travis Irvin Gorey, 26, out of the vehicle without incident.
EMS conducted an evaluation on the children, as well as Gorey, and no apparent injuries were observed.
Gorey was taken into custody and transported back to Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven Station for further investigation.
The children were transported to Schuylkill Medical Center for further evaluation and to meet Children and Youth Services and their mother.
Gorey is now facing charges of carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and endangering the welfare of children.
Gorey was locked up in Schuylkill County prison unable to post bail.
