Karl Leroy Keck, husband, father, grandfather, 95 years of age, of Barnesville, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 4, 2017 as a guest at Fellowship Manor in Whitehall, Pennsylvania.
Survived by his wife of 68 years, Pauline (Malencore) Keck; daughters, Mrs. Karen Conover and her husband Eric of Andreas, Michelle "Missy" Keck of Jim Thorpe; sons, Karl Keck and his wife Mary of Shamokin, Jeffrey Keck and his wife Anne Marie of Barnesville and Barry Keck and his wife Janet of Whitehall; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.
A graduate of Berwick High School, Karl served honorably in the United States Navy during WWII as an Aviation Machinist 2nd Class. He then attended Penn State University, and worked as a Claims Adjuster for Nationwide Insurance Company.
Protestant by faith, Karl was also a member of the Berwick American Legion, former Treasurer for the Boy Scouts Troop 54 of Barnesville. Karl was a talented carpenter and woodworker and was mechanically inclined. He was an avid outdoorsman, and hunter.
Born Thursday, February 16, 1922 in Berwick, the son of the late Charles, and Dora (Edwards) Keck, he was also predeceased by sisters, Mrs. Mary Miller, and Mrs. Dorothy Zimmerman.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home of 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. (570) 668-2550.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday evening June 8, 2017 at 7 o'clock P.M. from the funeral home. Friends shall be received Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5 to 7:00 P.M.
Interment with Military Honors will be in Ft. Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pennsylvania on Friday June 9, 2017 at 10:30 A.M.
