According to Shenandoah Police Chief George Carado, on Thursday, 7/13/2017, around 3:00pm Shenandoah Police were assisting Pennsylvania State Parole in attempting to locate a parolee at 423 W Oak St.
John Riddick, 37, answered the door and police smelled marijuana. When police informed Riddick that they were coming in the home, he tried to block their entrance. Police did gain entry into the home and found raw heroin and paraphernalia in plain view.
A search warrant was obtained and then executed.
During the search, police recovered approximately 250 individual bags of heroin, raw heroin, scales with heroin residue, rubberbands used to wrap heroin baggies into "bundles" and approximately 1000 individual baggies used to contain heroin.
In Riddick's pockets, police recovered eight baggies containing heroin which were packaged the same as the heroin baggies recovered from the search along with $375.00.
He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James Reiley and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $50,000.00 bail.
