Officials are warning Shenandoah residents after a boy was bitten by a rabid fox Wednesday afternoon.
According to officials, the incident occurred around 1:00pm, Wednesday on New Road in Lost Creek, near Shenandoah. The boy was taken to the hospital for his injuries and testing.
This is the second reported rabid fox attack in the area within a week.
Shenandoah Mayor Andrew Szczyglak also issued a warning to borough residents to keep an eye on their pets and children when they are outside.
Foxes are typically afraid of humans unless they're rabid.
If a fox is seen and acting strangely, you should contact authorities.
