Carol A. Roberts, 84, formerly of Pottsville, died Sunday at The Middletown Home, Middletown.
Born March 5, 1933, in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Charles B. and Lotus Knowlton Roberts.
She worked as an educator for over 40 years both at the Central Dauphin School District, Harrisburg and Shippensburg University. She was a member of Keyzner Poets, PA Poet Society, and the National Federation of State Poetry Societies.
She is survived by cousins MaryAnn Hollenbush and Carl J. Hollenbush, Pottsville.
Funeral Services will be held 11AM Thursday at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 515 West Market St. Pottsville. Interment will be held at Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven. Timothy J. McGonigle, 42, of Owl Creek, Tamaqua, PA died on Tuesday, August 15 at his residence. Born in Philadelphia, PA on March 1, 1975, he was a son of Kathleen M. (nee Bimler) McGonigle and the late Bernard J. McGonigle who died in 2010. A graduate of Penn Crest High School, Tim earned his Bachelor Degree in Medical Administration from Johnson & Wales University in Rhode Island. Most recently he worked for the Amazon Corporation, Hazleton, PA. Timothy was an avid Eagles fan and enjoyed spending time with his niece and nephew. He is survived by his mother, Kathleen; brother, Joseph F. McGonigle and his wife Sherri of Franconia, PA; niece, Shyanne McGonigle; and nephew, Brandon McGonigle. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 21 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, White Bear will follow the services. Karlene A. Hughes, 79, of Laurel St., Pine Grove, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 in the Hershey Medical Center.
Born on November 2, 1937 in Porter Twp., she was a daughter of the late Harry and Margaret Bettinger Rehrer.
Karlene was a 1955 graduate of Pine Grove High School and a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.
She worked for the Department of Military Affairs at Fort Indiantown Gap and then in the cafeteria at Pine Grove High and Middle Schools.
Karlene was a regular attendee of all Pine Grove High School sporting events and went to see her grandchildren at their sporting events at Blue Mountain High School. She loved to travel to different parks to listen to bands and all kinds of music. She was an avid Reckless fan and her song was Ride Sally Ride. She also enjoyed going to the Schuylkill County Fair.
Preceding her in death were her husband Donald R. Hughes in 2002; a son Gary Hughes and twin daughters Pamela and Jill Hughes.
Surviving are her son, Michael and wife Renee Hughes of Pine Grove; two grandchildren, Jared Hughes and Kelsey Hughes; and her companion, William L. "Bill" Nye of Orwigsburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Noon at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Dr. Richard Schoenleber officiating. There will be a viewing on Friday, August 18, 2017 from 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. and Saturday, August 19, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.

She was a 1980 graduate of Pine Grove High School and was a member of Hetzel's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove. Paula was also a social member of the H.H. & L. Fire Co. #1 Pine Grove, the Pine Grove VFW Post 3432 and the Pine Grove Fish & Game.
Paula worked at Canoe Mfg., Pine Grove until they closed and then worked at Werners as a Store Manager for 28 years.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed camping at Williams Grove.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Joan Herring and Susan Witmer, a brother, Dwaine Herring.
Surviving are her soul mate Dan Noll of Tremont; two sons, James Krammes Jr. and fiancée' Stacy Ebling of Auburn, Tyler Blickley and wife Lindsey Vigoda of New Ringgold; a stepdaughter Patricia Noll; two granddaughters, Sydney Krammes and Addisyn Wyllie and a grandson on the way, Mason Brian Blickley; five sisters, Betty Ann and husband James Martin of Schuylkill Haven, Michelene Young of Clarksville, TN, Christine Jennings of Shamokin, Denise and husband Mike Burke and Penny Shadler, both of Pine Grove; three brothers, Kenneth Herring of Schuylkill Haven, Randy and wife Sharon Herring of Pine Grove, Fred and wife Doris Herring of Grantville; nieces and nephews.

Jeffrey Carl Brown, 56, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Pine Grove died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at his home.
Reed Kahley, 83, of Ringtown, passed away Monday, August 14th,2017 at his residence.
Reed was born in Union Township, on April 7, 1934, a son of the late Myrtle (Reigel) and Amandus Kahley.
He was a 1952 graduate of the Con-Cen High School, and was a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Ringtown, where he was a former member of the church council.
He was retired from the Ringtown Borough Water and Street Department and had previously worked as a dairy farmer, a welder and machinist for the Dana Corp. in Reading, and at the Labenberg Brothers Farm.
Reed was a member of the Ringtown Area Lions Club; He was a fifty year plus member for both the F&AM Lodge 737 and the Bloomsburg Caldwell Consistory; a 23 year member of the Rajah Shrine and a member of the Ringtown Valley Sporting Club.
He enjoyed traveling, camping and hunting, and had a special passion for fishing with his family and a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son in law, George Herbein and a grandson, David Herbein.
Reed is survived by his wife, Lovell (Lindenmuth) Kahley, with who he celebrated 61 years of marriage on June 2nd of this year. He is survived by a daughter, Jewel, wife of Mark Tuberty, of Zion Grove; and two sons, Kevin Kahley and his wife Penny, of Fayetteville, GA and Keith Kahley and his wife Brenda, of New Bloomfield.
He is also survived by grandchildren, Andrew, Thomas and Mark Herbein; Sara Turk; Ruthanne, Martha and Zachary Kahley; Astrida Curis, along with 5 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A brother in in law Bruce Lindenmuth, and his wife Ruthanne of Rittman, Ohio also survives, as does his cousin who was like a brother to him, Furn Fuhrman, and his wife Claudine of Bethlehem.
A Funeral Service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ringtown, at 11 AM on Thursday, August 17th, with Pastor Jay Serafin officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing Wednesday evening from 6-9 PM at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown and again on Thursday morning from 10-11 AM at the church prior to the service.
Reed will be laid to rest at St. John's Cemetery in Ringtown, following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Reed are asked to be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, 106 West Main Street, Ringtown.

Jeffrey Carl Brown, 56, of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Pine Grove died Sunday, August 13, 2017 at his home.
Born on October 14, 1960 in Pottsville, he was a son of Doris Arlene Nagle Brown of Pine Grove and the late Carl William Brown.
He was a graduate of Blue Mountain High School and studied Business and Music Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
He had a career in banking which spanned more than 35 years, having started with First Union, then Wachovia and now Wells Fargo. He was currently Assistant Vice President and Application System Engineer for Wells Fargo.
Among Jeff's greatest loves was music. He was an integral part of One Voice Chorus of Charlotte, of which he was a past member of the small auditioned ensemble, Sotto Voce, served on the Board of Directors of the chorus and was one of the largest supporters of the chorus.
He also loved his canine companions and enjoyed sharing times with them at Barkingham Dog Park in Charlotte. His beloved dogs, Carmen and Mischief are among his survivors and he was preceded in death by his beloved, Bear, Hershe and Patches.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his partner, Rafael A. Jenkins; a sister Yvonne and husband Glen Hummel, a brother Kevin and wife Tara Brown, both of Pine Grove; his nieces and nephews and their families, as well as, his friends from One Voice Chorus.
