Christina M. Searnock, 92 years of age of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
Widow of Michael Searnock, she is survived by; step daughter, Mrs. Mary Barbieri; sister, Mrs. Elizabeth E. Ormand, Mrs. Pauline Mary Heffernan; twelve step grandchildren; many great step grandchildren; nieces, and nephews.
Born Thursday, December 25, 1924 in Midleton, County of Cork, Ireland, the daughter of the late Christopher, and Annie (Flynn) Phillips. She was also predeceased by a step children, Mrs. Susan Bruno, Mr. Michael Searnock, Jr.; sister, Mrs. Patricia Wagner; brothers, Charles, and William Phillips.
Upon the death of her parents in Ireland, Christina was sent to the United States to live with relatives at an early age. She entered the solemn profession of a Sister, taking the name of Sister Thaddeus Maria. Sister Maria's calling took her to serving for many years on a Indian Reservation in California to becoming a Mother Superior in Philadelphia. Upon leaving her cloistered life she married and resided in Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania where she continued to serve the church for many years.

Michael Trubilla, age 89, of Willing St., Tamaqua, died Friday, August 11, 2017, at Hometown Nursing Center.
He is survived by his wife, Anna B. (Smolinsky) Trubilla.
