Anna Dzaba, 84, of Mahanoy City, PA, passed away Sunday, August 20th, at her residence.
Anna was born in Mahanoy City, PA on November 3, 1932, a daughter of the late John Dzaba and Anastasia (Hamersky) Trojchak - Dzaba.
She was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church Mahanoy City.
During her lifetime Anna had worked as a Nurse.
She was the last of her family and is preceded in death by Brothers Stephen, Michael, Frank, and John Trojchak, and Sisters Mary Trojchak, and Josephine Yacabonis.
Office of Christian Burial and Divine Liturgy at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Mahanoy City, at 10 AM on Monday, August 28th, with Rev. James Carroll officiating.
Friends may call Monday August 28th 9AM at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in St. Mary's Byzantine Cemetery Mahanoy City, PA.

Ruth M. Brosius, 93, of Klingerstown, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Green Valley Skilled Nursing Center, Pitman.
Ruth was born in Hunter Station, on July 2, 1924, a daughter of the late Lydia Alice (Rebuck) and Daniel Oscar Reed.
She had worked as a trimmer at the Millersburg shirt factory and later worked as a packer at the former Quaker State Farms in Klingerstown.
She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church Klingerstown.
She enjoyed quilting, putting together jig saw puzzles, word search puzzles, hunting trips to Wyoming, traveling in a RV to various locations, camping and baby-sitting her grandchildren.
She was the widow of Leon L. Brosius who passed away on April 13, 2004.
Ruth is survived by two daughters, Joyce A., wife of Kenneth Hain, of Dornsife; Connie L., wife of Bradley Williard, of Harrisburg; a brother, Clair Reed, of Dalmatia; four grandchildren, Kelly Klinger and her husband Michael, Tammy Bonawitz and her husband Rodney, Brett Williard and Julie Williard. 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Chad K. Hain, two brothers Paul and Bruce Reed, two sisters Anna Long and Josephine Stepp and and infant brother Guy.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 10-11 AM at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown, with the funeral service following at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jonathan Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery.

Carol L. Sterner , 75, of 620 Valley Road, Pottsville, died Tuesday August 22, 2017 at her daughter Jane's residence, Heckscherville.
Born in Catawissa, September 22, 1941, She was a daughter of the late Marvin and Louise (Ash) Keefer.
She graduated in1959 from Pottsville Area High School.
Carol was active in the Heckscherville Fire Company for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Sterner in1971 and companion Daniel Schaeffer in 2012.
Surviving are daughter Jane Sunday and her husband Brad of Heckscherville.
A celebration of life Service will be announced at a later date.

Dorothy J. Hoffman, 88, of Deturksville Rd., Pine Grove, peacefully passed from earthly life to Heavenly life, with her faithful son, Rick, holding her hand on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at home.
Born on May 27, 1929 in Deturksville, she was a daughter of the late Walter S. Sr. and Clara A. Berger Wolfe.
She attended the Centennial School in Deturksville and was a faithful member of the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, Pine Grove.
Dorothy enjoyed walking, working outdoors, and keeping her home. She was eager to lend a helping hand to others, was hospitable, and faithful in visiting the sick and the elderly. Her family was honored to reciprocate the loving care she had given them, especially during her final months. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Richard A. Hoffman, Sr.; two sons, Terry Hoffman and Randall Hoffman; two brothers, Ray S. Wolfe and Walter S. Wolfe, Jr.; a sister, Esther Kutz.
Surviving are her son Richard Hoffman, Jr., with whom she lived; a daughter, Darlene and husband Steven Noll of Pine Grove: 7 grandchildren: Jason and wife Sandy (Klinedinst) Noll, Miriam and husband Wayne Jones, Anna and husband Randy Martin, Loretta and husband Kerry Hoffman, Jeremiah and wife Rachel (Roop) Noll, Jamie and husband William White, Kelly Hoffman; 16 great grandchildren: Tyler, Austin, Sage, Cody, Tierzah, Victoria, Brandon and Nicole Noll; Tiffany and Taylor Jones, Erin, Emily and Elijah Hoffman, Aliyah Musser, Madison and Caleb Lozada; a brother, Kenneth Wolfe, Sr. and a sister Mae Aungst, both of Pine Grove.

There will be a viewing on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the Church. Interment will follow in the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren Cemetery.

Samuel "Sam" Schlauch, 82, of Ringtown, passed away late Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017.
Sam was born in Nuremberg, on December 7, 1934, a son of the late Mabel (Bankes) and Richard Schlauch.
He attended Nuremberg High School and was a retired mechanic having been employed by the Blaschak Coal Company.
Sam was an avid hunter and a former sportsman race car driver, racing locally at Big Diamond, Grandview Raceway and Anthracite Raceway.
He was preceded in death by a son, Samuel, Jr. 1957; and by brothers Richard, and Alvin, along with a grandson Justin.
He is survived by his wife, Edna (Coates) Schlauch and would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary in November of this year.
Sam is also survived by his children, Debra Schlauch, of Ringtown; Wendy, wife of Jim Greising, of Ringtown; and Lauri Ann Schlauch, and her wife, Dawn of Seattle; Rick Schlauch, and his wife Gloria, of Ringtown and James "Wally" Schlauch, of Ringtown.
He is also survived by two sisters and a brother, Ruth Hauck, of Nuremberg, Nancy Broyles, of Tennessee and Donald Schlauch, of Mountain Grove. 17 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandson along with nieces and nephews, survive.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home, 412 West Main Street, Ringtown, at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 29th, 2017.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-8 PM and again on Tuesday morning from 10-11 AM prior to the service.
Sam will be laid to rest at the Nuremberg Cemetery following the service.
