George Weaver, 85 years of age of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Mahoning Valley Nursing Center in Lehighton.
George Weaver, 85 years of age of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017, at Mahoning Valley Nursing Center in Lehighton.
Born Tuesday, August 16, 1932 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania , the son of the late LeRoy, and Bertha (Reichelderfer) Weaver. He was also predeceased by sister, Mrs. Dorothy Arner; brothers, Albert, Robert, William, and LeRoy Weaver.
A member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tamaqua, George had worked for many years at General Battery in Muhlenberg Township. George served honorably in the United States Army, and was an avid Penn State Football fan.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. of 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. (570) 668-2550.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday September 30, 2017 at 2 o'clock P.M. from the funeral home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on the afternoon of services from1:00 P.M. until time of services.
Interment with Military Honors will be in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.

Eleanor A. Moneta, 90 years of age of East Broad Street, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.
Surviving are; son, Bruce J. Moneta of Lewis Del.; daughter, Lee Ann Rinkenberg wife of Donald of Bethlehem; sister, Annette Shamus and her husband Michael of Virginia; grandchildren, Brooke Burgy, Matthew Moneta, Paul J., and Daniel J. Rinkenberg; six great- grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive Eleanor.
A 1944 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Eleanor was a life long member of St. John XXIII R.C.C. of Tamaqua. Eleanor retired from the Tamaqua School District having worked in the Elementary School cafeteria for twenty-four years. She enjoyed playing Bingo and listening to music.
Born Tuesday, May 24, 1927 in Coaldale the daughter of the late Charles, and Anna (Barry) Menconi. She was also predeceased by; sisters, Mrs. Catherine Williams, Mrs. Ethel McLaughlin, Mrs. Virginia Coll, Patricia Menconi, Mrs. Phyllis Dunsavage, Elizabeth Menconi; brothers, James, John, and Robert Menconi.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, September 28, 2017, at the funeral home.

Born in Pottsville, PA on March 21, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Casimer and Helen Anna (Michalsky) Anthony. Jean was a graduate of Nativity B.V.M. High School in Pottsville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Vincent E. Zimerofsky on October 1, 1997, her companion Richard Mervine and two brothers: Mark and Casimer Anthony
Jean is survived by 3 sons: Scott Zimerofsky and his wife Mindy, Pottsville, Vincent Zimerofsky and his wife Jessica, Pottsville, and Adam Zimerofsky and his wife Jaime, Minersville; 6 grandchildren: Tyler, Parker, Haley, Hannah, Chase, and Caden; step-mother Mary Anthony, Pottsville; brother Brian Anthony, Friedensburg; two sisters-in-law: Michelle Sullivan, Port Carbon and Felicia McCabe, Cumbola; and nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home 208 Pike St., Port Carbon at 7:30PM on Thursday, September 28th, with Msgr. William Glosser officiating.

Betty P. Molochnick, 87, of Jonestown, Cass Township, passed away on Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital -- Cedar Crest.
Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Klitsch Starinsky. She was a 1948 graduate of Pottsville High School. She worked in various private homes as a housekeeper; and enjoyed gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Molochnick, on December 22, 2002; two sons, Kenneth Molochnick and Dennis Molochnick.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Susan Brown (spouse, Kevin), Cass Township; two grandchildren, Faith Snyder (fiancé, Brandon Kile), Orangeville, and Jared Snyder, Ravenel, South Carolina; a great grandson, Jason Snyder, Orangeville.
