Mahanoy Area has announced that students will be dismissed as soon as possible. No specific time was given.
A message to parents stated that "due to concern for the safety of children and staff and time constraints with clearing the building, students are being dismissed"
An announcement was made to parents around 10:00am after a threat was found,
The District has currently evacuated the building due to a threat found in the bathroom.
Authorities have been notified and children are safely at their evacuation points.
Once the building is deemed safe by appropriate authorities, staff and children will return. Please do not come to pick up your child at this time.
