A fire in Mahanoy City earlier this week has been ruled accidental.
Just before 12:30am Tuesday morning, fire crews were called to 925 West Centre Street, Mahanoy City for a working structure fire.
Police arrived on seen and were able to kick in the door of the home to rescue a man and an infant sleeping inside.
After fire crews arrived they found flames in the front porch area of the home and crews were able to quickly put the fire out before spreading further.
According to the Mahanoy City Fire Department, a Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal investigated the cause and ruled it accidental and it was caused by careless smoking.
