Man Charged After Eating Food and Knocking Over Wal-Mart Display

A man is facing disorderly conduct charges after an incident at a Wal-Mart near Hamburg.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Hamburg, Gary Hoffman, 69, of Bernville, is accused of  causing a disturbance in the Tilden Township Wal-Mart near Hamburg Monday morning around 12:30am.

Police say Hoffman kicked a shelf and knocked over a display.  Workers asked Hoffman to leave repeatedly but would not leave.

Hoffman then drank part of a 1/2 gallon jug of apple cider, ate crackers, and chocolate donuts from the food department.  Hoffman had no cash on him and insisted he wasn't going to pay for them because "Sam Walton" owed him $50.00.

Hoffman is charged with persistent disorderly conduct and retail theft.
