Man Wanted for Attempted Homicide in Custody

A man wanted for a shooting near Frackville is in custody.


According to Trooper Joseph Hall, of the Frackville State Police Barracks, Donald Jenkins, 40, of Shenandoah was taken into custody, arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Christina Hale and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $250,000 straight cash bail.

Jenkins is being charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Homicide, Burglary, Aggravated Assault, Possessing Instruments of Crime, Simple Assault and Recklessly Endangering Another Person.

Police say, around 2:50pm, Sunday, police responded to the Motel 6,, located at 701 Altamont Blvd West Mahanoy Township Schuylkill County for a report of a Victim with a gunshot wound in Room 49.

Upon their arrival, it was learned that the Victim was in room 49 at the Motel 6 with his girlfriend. She had rented the room on 10/14/17 and was to check out on 10/16/17.

The Victim was sitting on the far bed in the room when his girlfriend's father, Donald Jenkins, 40, of Shenandoah, came to the Motel 6 and entered the room that was occupied by the Victim and his girlfriend. An argument ensued which lead to the actor shooting the Victim in the upper left leg/groin area.

Jenkins then fled the area in his vehicle.

The Victim was transported by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center Danville for his sustained injuries.
