Washington Hook and Ladder Dedicates New Fire House and Ladder Truck

On Saturday, the Washington Hook and Ladder, Mahanoy City, rose from the Ashes when they dedicated their new fire house and housed their new ladder truck.

On the morning of the 2013 Schuylkill County Firemen's Convention, the Washington Hook and Ladder, Mahanoy City was supposed to be getting ready for the parade.  But the Hookies spent that morning trying to put out a fire in their own fire station.

The fire destroyed their firehouse, located on Mahanoy Street, as well as their ladder truck, a 1993 Simon Duplex 75' Quint.

After over 4 years of work, the Washington Hook and Ladder dedicated their new firehouse next to the West End Firehouse and also house their new firetruck, a 1997 E-One 75' Quint, which came from the Southampton Fire Company, Bucks County.

On Saturday, dozens of departments participated in the celebration of which began with their trucks on display in the Mahanoy Area parking lot.  At 1:00pm, a fire truck parade was held in the borough and afterwards a ceremony was held to officially dedicate their new fire house.
