Fire Destroys Home in Ashland Friday Morning

A fire destroyed a home and displaced a family Friday morning.


Around 6:45am, Friday, emergency personnel were called to 1237 Arch Street, Ashland for a working structure fire.

When crews arrived they found heavy fire coming from the rear of the home and called a 2nd alarm.

A person driving by reportedly helped the family that occupied the home escape safely.

The American Red Cross is assisting the victims.

A cause was not know or location where it started and state police fire marshal was called.

Fire personnel from Ashland, Girardville, Gordon, Frackville, and Mount Carmel were called to assist.

Two younger boys lived in the home.  The boys will need clothes and are looking for the following

Shoes: 7 -7.5 mens shoe and 9 mens
Shirt Size: Boys Large and X-Large
Pants: 14-16 Boys Sweat Pants and 14 Regular Jeans

They will also need coats and school clothes.

For the adults

Ladies: large shirts and 14 pants
Men's XXL shirts and 40/42 pants
