Schuylkill United Way Surpasses 2018 Goal

On Friday morning, the Schuylkill United Way announced they surpassed their goal for 2018.


Earlier this month, we reported that the Schuylkill United Way was still in need of donations to reach their $1,100,081 goal for 2018.  As of November 6th, the organization had only raised 44% of their goal.

Fast forward two weeks until today and the organization had surpassed their goal with a total of  $1,103,000 raised.

The Schuylkill United Way is a non-profit, independent organization that raises funds for 14 partner agencies who serve the Schuylkill County Communities. They have been in Schuylkill County since 1936.

They are dedicated to providing funding, guidance, and encouragement to the partner agencies that provide a variety of programs and services to residents.

They support agencies such as
  • the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Schuylkill County
  • Avenues
  • Boys Scouts of America (Hawk Mountain)
  • Child Development
  • Salvation Army (Pottsville and Tamaqua)
  • Sexual Assault Resource and Counseling Center of Schuylkill County
  • Schuylkill Wellness Services
  • Schuylkill Women in Crisis
  • Schuylkill YMCA
  • Tamaqua Meals on Wheels
  • Tamaqua YMCA
99% of every dollar raise stays in Schuylkill County to benefit the above agencies.  81.6% of people in Schuylkill County have benefitted from the services provided from these agencies as well.
