According to Jim Thorpe Police, Thomas L. Gehres Sr. 69, of Jim Thorpe was arrested and
charged with raping a 19 year old female at his home on the morning of Sunday, December 10, 2017.
Gehres has been charged with the following offenses Rape, Rape with threat of forcible compulsion, Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Sexual Assault, Aggravated Indecent Sexual Assault, Indecent Assault Forcible Compulsion, Indecent Assault without consent, and Incest. Gehres was video arraigned in front of Magistrate William Kissner from Palmerton. Bail was set at $200,000 10%.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled on January 3, 2018 at 1pm at Magistrate Eric Schrantz’s office in Jim Thorpe.
Gehres has also been charged with a separate offense of Indecent Assault involving the same victim during the summer of 2017 at his home in Jim Thorpe.
