Just before 2:00am, fire crews were called to 200 Taylorsville Mountain Road, Pitman, the Green Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for an automatic fire alarm. Not long after, the nursing home was reported to have been filling with smoke.
Residents of the home are being evacuated.
Early reports were that the fire was electrical.
Multiple fire departments have been called to the scene including Eldred Township, Hegins Township, Hubley Township, Pine Grove, Butler Township, Englewood, and units from Northumberland County.
