A Pottsville man was killed in a crash in Foster Township Sunday afternoon.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police, the crash occurred around 1:15pm at the Route 901 overpass of Interstate 81.
Police say the crash occurred when a 2000 Jeep Cherokee driven by Adam Ould, 27, of Pottsville was travelling northbound on Route 901 just south of Interstate 81.
For unknown reasons, Ould crossed the southbound lane striking a guard rail, then traveled down an embankment. Ould's vehicle struck another guard rail and a concrete jersey barrier on the shoulder of Interstate 81.
After impacting the jersey barrier, Ould's vehicle came to a final rest on its roof in the right lane of northbound Interstate 81.
Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner David Truskowsky pronounced Ould dead at the scene at 1:40pm. Ould was reported to not be wearing a seat belt.
Interstate 81 has since reopened but was closed for about 3 hours after the crash.
