Merle Bowe McAllister, 96, much loved mother of Guy W. Bowe, Jeffrey P. Bowe, and Brenda B. Sebring, died peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Providence Place, Pottsville, PA surrounded by her family and closest friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband and the father of their children, The Honorable Guy A. Bowe, Jr. in 1983. Merle graduated from the University of Alabama in 1943. Mrs. Bowe loved bridge, enameling and painting, golfing and was a superb cook.
She lost her son, Guy, in 1988.
Mrs. Bowe is survived by her son Jeffrey and his wife Rea of Hometown, PA and their children Guy and his wife Katie of Alexandria, VA and Bergen and her husband Eric Dougherty of Philadelphia, PA; her daughter Brenda and her husband Barry L. Sebring of Greensburg, PA and their children Janell Khamvongsa of Las Vegas, NV and Daryl L. Sebring and his wife Karrie of Greensburg, PA; and her great grandchildren, Jezalyn Garcia, Joshua Khamvongsa, MacKenzie Khamvongsa, Khaely Khamvongsa, Troy Sebring and Katelyn Sebring.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.

William "Bill" Weaver Jr., 57, husband, father, grandfather, brother and son, passed away suddenly on January 26, 2018 in Eugene, Oregon.
He is survived by his wife Denyce; daughters Christy and Jamie, his father; William R. Weaver Sr. and stepmother Roseann Weaver of Coaldale, Pa. also his brothers Rick, Walker Township, Pa., Ty, West Penn Township, Pa. and Tommy, Frackville, Pa.
He was predeceased by his mother Glorya M. Delp and stepfather; Norman E. Delp of Tamaqua, Pa.
Bill served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and retired a Master Sergeant. He served in Kuwait during operation Desert Storm. After retiring from the U.S.A.F. he drove truck for his father William R. Weaver Sr. Afterwards, he attended Kutztown University and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. He then worked the Pa. Department of Welfare in Allentown, Pa.
Prior to his passing he was working at the Oregon Dept. of Human Resources. Born on March 21st, 1960 at Camp Lejeune, NC a son on William R. Weaver Sr. and the late Glorya M. Delp of Tamaqua. Pa.

Services: Thursday, February 15th, 2018 at Trinity United Church of Christ in Tamaqua, Pa. 10-11a.m. visitation with a service at 11a.m. Interment will be Indiantown Gap, National Cemetery at 3:00 on February 15th, 2018.

Florence I. Kane, age 92, of Pottsville, who lived with her daughter Connie for the past year, passed away 2018 while visiting her son David in Florida on Monday, February 12th, at The Villages Regional Hospital in Florida.
Born in Pottsville, PA on September 27, 1925, the seventh child of ten, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Teresa (Longo) Caravan.
Florence was a graduate of Pottsville High School, Class of 1943. She worked as a secretary for Caravan Printing Company and the Pottsville Box Company and then became a Medical Assistant working for Doctors Marconis, Ravitz, Schwartz, and Shipton for 40 years.
Florence was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church and a member of the former St. Joseph Church for 80 years, both in Pottsville. She was a member and former President of the Pottsville Business and Professional Womens Group, the Catholic Daughters of America, the St. Joseph Guild, the Sons of Italy Club, and the Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary. Florence was also a member of the Mother's Pottsville High School Football Boosters, SCOOP, the St. Patrick's Seniors, the St. John's over 50 Card Club, the Pottsville Women's Club, and the Pottsville Senior Center, and she was a Philadelphia Phillies baseball fan.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, being preceded in death by her parents, her first husband of 7 years Charles Barnes in 1951, her second husband of 44 years, Edward M. Kane in 2012, a son Daniel Barnes, a grandson Kevin Barnes, 7 brothers: Dominic, Anthony, Joseph, Raymond, George, Robert, and Vincent Caravan, and 2 sisters: Helen Fries, and Mary Stein.
Florence is survived by a son David Barnes, The Villages, FL; a daughter Connie Barnes Husowitz LaFaver, Bechtelsville, PA; 5 grandchildren: Christine Barnes Digman, Cary, NC Stephen Barnes, Coopersburg, PA, Jeffrey Barnes, St. Charles, ILL, Brian Husowitz, Conshohocken, PA, and Barry Husowitz, Sharon, Mass.; 10 great-grandchildren: Kyle and Alyssa Digman, Danielle and Derek Barnes, Brett and Brady Barnes, and Quinlan, Kellan, Rory, and Charlotte Husowitz; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Pottsville at 11AM on Monday February 19th, with Rev. Edward Connolly officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Monday morning from 9-11AM at the Church.
Interment will be held in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Pottsville.

William L. "Sharky" Fredericks, age 51, of Port Carbon, PA passed away Thursday, February 8th, 2018 at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital.
Born in Pottsville, PA on March 9, 1966, he was the son of the late George Fredericks and Amelia (Kadis) Fredericks, who survives him in Port Carbon.
Sharky worked as a Truck Driver for GSTC in Iowa and was a DJ, known as DJ Shark Attack. He loved camping, fishing, and hunting.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother Edward Fredericks.
In addition to his mother, Sharky is survived by his wife of 18 years, Denise J. (Koons) Fredericks; a son Joshua Fredericks; a granddaughter Jasmine Dove; 3 step-children: William L. Miller Jr., Heather L. Miller, and Denise J. Miller; a brother George Fredericks Jr.; and nieces and nephews.
A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home, 208 Pike St., Port Carbon at 11AM on Thursday, February 15th, with Deacon Jack Quirk officiating.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing Thursday morning from 9-11AM at the Funeral Home.
Interment will be held in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Pottsville.
