Joann M. Schock, 77, of Valley Road, Tamaqua, PA died on Friday, February 2, 2018 in Orwigsburg, PA after a courageous 13 year battle with cancer.
She was the wife of Ronald D. Schock to whom she was married 55 Years. Born in Coaldale, PA on January 14, 1941, Joann was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lois (nee Martines) Cutcavage.
A 1958 graduate of Tamaqua High School, she earned an Associates Degree from Goldey-Beacom College, Wilmington, Delaware. Joann was a member of The Parish of St. John XXIII, Tamaqua (formerly Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church) and was a former den mother of Cub Scout Pack 79, Tamaqua.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by son, Ronald C. Schock and his wife Lisa of Allentown, PA; daughter Maryliss Schock of Lewistown Valley, PA; and grandchildren, Andrew Schock and Kaitlyn Schock.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 7 in Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 307 Pine Street, Tamaqua followed by interment in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Owl Creek, Tamaqua. Call 9-10:30 AM on Wednesday at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua.
