McKayla Ann Wall, beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, of Valley Road, Tamaqua passed away suddenly on Friday, February 2, 2018 at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Medical Center in Coaldale at the age of 18 from a pulmonary emboli.
Born in Allentown the beloved daughter of Jesse T., and Lauren C. (Schock) Wall, McKayla is survived by; sister, Kallia C.M. Wall; brother, Nicholas D.B. Wall; maternal grandparents, Dave C. and Louise (Markel) Schock; paternal grandmother, Joan M. (Lopata) Wall wife of the late Bruce J.; uncle Joel S. Wall, her Godfather, and his wife Tammy and their daughter, Chessa; Aunts & uncles, Joyce and Francis Arner, Betty Coleman, Ronald Schock, Jack and Mary Schock, John Lopata, Robert and Grace Lopata, Godmother Gretchen (Everett) Yulanavage, as well as many friends and relatives.
A vibrant young woman, McKayla was a senior at Tamaqua Area High School with acceptances to a number of colleges, with the dream of studying mass communications and public relations. A trombone player, McKayla was a member of the Tamaqua Raider Marching Band and concert band since middle school. McKayla played high school basketball for two years, was a shot putter on the track team, and was a member of the school soccer team for two years. She was in the school chorus, drama club and member of the school step-up program. McKayla was a longtime member of the Girl Scouts achieving her Bronze and Silver Awards. She was a member of the Spanish National Honor Society. She was an active member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church.
All these accomplishments while mothering to her friends. There was no need to fret of running out of pen or paper if you were her friend, for McKayla stock piled all needed school supplies.
McKayla was engaging. She knew how to interact with people of all ages, and used these skills working at Heisler's from the age of 13 to recently taking a second job at Leiby's. She loved driving her yellow bug and hanging out with friends.
McKayla was predeceased by great aunt Joann Schock who also passed away on Friday, February 2, great aunt and uncles Edward and Joan Thomas, Joseph Coleman and Michael Lopata.
A volunteer with the American Cancer Telethon Auction, as a young girl she attended the Reading Phillies camp and stayed a true fan. A number of the Reading Phillies would look for her to attend games each year. McKayla's favorite artists were Harry Styles and Taylor Swift, with whom she shared her birthday. Let's not forget her partner in crime, her beloved cat, Harold.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday February 9, 2018 at 11 o'clock A.M. from the funeral home, Rev. Cindy White to officiate. Friends may call on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5 to 8:00 P.M.
Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
