Two Face Charges for Falsely Reporting a Vehicle Theft
Two people are facing charges after falsely reporting to police that a vehicle was stolen in West Mahanoy Township.
According to police, on January 14th, 2018 Anna Hornberger reported that her vehicle was stolen from a residence in Brownsville.
Police say Hornberger denied knowing anything regarding the incident but an investigation revealed that at the time of the report, a Donald Crawley was in possession of the vehicle.
It was also found that Hornberger had permitted Crawley to borrow the vehicle.
As a result of this investigation West Mahanoy Township Police have charged, Hornberger with False Reports and Crawley will have to answer to a charge of Unauthorized use of Automobiles.
Both charges were filed before Magisterial District Judge Kilker in Shenandoah.

Man Facing Harassment and Public Drunkenness Charges from Separate Incidents on the Same Day
MAHANOY CITY - On February 19, 2018 around 10:00am, Mahanoy City Police received a report from a 21 year-old female who was being harassed by Rhett Baker, 21, of Barnesville.
Baker was cited for Harassment. He will have 10 days to respond to the violations at Magisterial District Judge Kilker’s Office in Shenandoah, PA. Charges completed by Patrolman Rachael Lenar.
Later the same day at around 8:30pm, Mahanoy City Police encountered Rhett Baker for a second time. Baker approached police. It was observed that he was intoxicated, and was under the influence of a controlled substance. He was charged with public drunkenness and similar misconduct. He will have 10 days to respond to the violations at Magisterial District Judge Kilker’s Office in Shenandoah, PA. Charges completed by Patrolman Thomas Rentschler.

Four Cited for Disorderly Conduct
MAHANOY CITY - On February 20th, 2018 around 9:20pm, Police Officers responded to a report of a fight, with one of the individuals armed with a baseball bat. Johanna Rodriguez, 31, Jose Rodriguez, 29, and Joanne Schneider, 35, all of Mahanoy City were cited for Disorderly Conduct. Julia Schneider, age 25 of Mahanoy Plane was also cited for Disorderly Conduct. They will have 10 days to respond to the violations at Magisterial District Judge Kilker’s Office in Shenandoah, PA. Charges completed by Patrolman Matthew Williams and Jennifer Dempsey.

On February 23rd, 2018 around 4:00pm, Mahanoy City Police responded to a report of harassment in the 400 block of W. Pine Street.
Kenneth VanHorn, 38, of Mahanoy City was charged with Harassment and Criminal Mischief. He will have 10 days to respond to the violations at Magisterial District Judge Kilker’s Office in Shenandoah, PA. Charges completed by Patrolman Thomas Rentschler
