Matthew John Fannock, 21, of West Penn, PA died on March 11, 2018. 

Born in Hazleton, PA on July 9, 1996, he was a son of John C. and Lori (nee Kantor) Fannock. A 2014 graduate of Tamaqua High School, 

Matthew was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tamaqua, PA. 

In addition to his parents, he is survived by brothers, Zachary and Nathan Fannock at home; paternal grandmother, Deanna Fannock of Tamaqua; maternal grandmother, Kathryn Nunemacher of Tamaqua; maternal grandfathers, Richard Kantor of Tamaqua and Ronald Nunemacher of Tamaqua; uncles, Michael Fannock and his wife, Sandra of Andreas, PA, Anthony Fannock and his wife Shannon of Tamaqua, Joshua Nunemacher of Tamaqua, and Stephen Kantor and his wife, Courtney of Tamaqua; aunt, Susan Fannock; and numerous cousins including Michael Fannock of Andreas. 

He was predeceased by paternal grandfather, Michael Fannock. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 8 PM on Friday, March 16 at the Zizelmann-Gulla Funeral Home, 500 East Broad Street, Tamaqua with The Rev. Phyllis Wolford officiating. Call 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. 

Memorials in Matthew’s name may be made to the Tamaqua Area Baseball Association, c/o Bill Angst, 986 Catawissa Road, Tamaqua, PA 18252.

Florence D. Pazera, 93 of East Elm Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Orwigsburg Center in Orwigsburg. 

Born Monday, October 13, 1924 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Albert, and Adele (Sagitis) Pazera. Survived by her caregiver, Virginia "Ginny" Woodward and her husband David; cousin, Joanne Pazara, and many friends. 

A graduate of Tamaqua Area High School class of 1942, Florence worked for 25 years at the former Evening Courier, and then for Architect & Engineer's of Tamaqua. She was a member of St. John the XXIII R.C.C. of Tamaqua, and attended the Tamaqua Adult Day Care for a number of years. 

Funeral arrangement's have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. of 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. (570) 668-2550. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday March 15, 2018 at 10 o'clock A.M. from SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. 307 Pine Street, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. 

The family will receive friends from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at the fuenral home. 

Interment SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. Cemetery, Owl Creek, Pennsylvania.

Scott William Smith, 51 formerly of Barnesville and Tamaqua Pennsylvania died on Friday, March 9, 2018, at Weatherwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Weatherly, Pennsylvania. 

Born Wednesday, April 6, 1966 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania the son of the late William R., and Pricilla (Price) Smith. Survived by; daughter, Sheree Regifford; sister, Shirley A. Tirpak and her husband Brian; aunts, Loretta Beltz, and Debra (Price) Rodgers; nieces and friends. 

A 1984 Mahanoy City High School graduate, Scott matriculated to the Culinary Arts Institute of Hyde Park New York earning his degree in culinary science. Upon graduation Scott took his talents to the Caribbean living on the Island of St. Vincent for two years. Returning home, he was a chef at the Brookside Restaurant in Trenton, Train Station Restaurant of Tamaqua, and the Beacon Diner in Hometown. 

Scott enjoyed fishing, camping, and was a certified scuba diver. 

A Remembrance Services will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 2 o'clock P.M. from the Grier City Union Sunday School, Grier Ave., Barnesville, Pennsylvania.

Richard Williams, 82, of Ashland passed away at Lehigh Valley Hospital -Schuylkill East on March 11, 2018. Born in Ashland on July 12, 1935, he was the son of the late Arthur and Lillian (Marquette) Williams.

He graduated from Ashland High School, Class of 1953 and also attended Penn State University. He was in the US Army serving in France. After an honorable discharge from the military he worked in the Philadelphia area and later moved back to Ashland to assist his mother. He worked for many years at the Tri-State Envelope Corporation. He was an accomplished pianist and loved classical music. One of his favorite pastimes was playing the PA lottery. He is survived by two sisters Ruby Kehler, California and Dorothy Price, New Jersey and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister Nancy Travis.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home
Inc. Charles Heizenroth III, Supervisor, Ashland will be handling the arrangements.
