All 6 candidates will meet next week for the 9th Congressional District Candidate Forum hosted by the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce.
The forum will take place Tuesday, April 24th, at 7:00pm at the D.H.H. Lengel Middle School auditorium, Pottsville.
All 6 candidates, 3 Republican and 3 Democrats have agreed attend.
The candidates include
- Schuylkill County Commissioner George Halcovage (Republican)
- Dan Mueser (Republican)
- Scott Uehlinger (Republican)
- Laura Quick (Democrat)
- Denny Wolff (Democrat)
- Gary Wegman (Democrat)
The forum is to be non-confrontational with each candidate having equal time to answer questions from the Chamber. The candidates will be made aware of the topics prior, but not the specific questions. The forum is not meant to be a debate.
Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce President Robert Carl says "The questions will be asked by a moderator and will range from topics important at the National and District Level".
The media in attendance will also be allowed to ask questions during a portion of the forum.

The United States 9th Congressional District is currently held by Representative Bill Shuster (R), Hollidaysburg, but is being moved from Southwestern PA to Eastern Pennsylvania after the district lines were redrawn in February 2018 when the Supreme Court ruled unconstitutional.
The new 9th District includes all or parts of the counties of Schuylkill, Carbon, Berks, Lebanon, Luzerne, Columbia, Montour, and Northumberland.
